Identifying challenging areas is the first step toward success. As we know, if foundational knowledge is not solidified, it can weaken the base and crumble if we are not careful. Most nursing programs utilize some type of platform to assess student knowledge as you move through the program. What we do is analyze your data, identify your challenging areas while at the same time making note of any trends along the way.
For example, in Foundations, if a student does not understand the blood flow of the heart or the components that make up the heart, the student may not later understand the pathophysiology of congestive heart failure and/or how mitral valve insufficiencies effect blood flow and perfusion.

The truth is, students have lots of data. However, they do not know what to do with it. Most programs do not show students how to use this data or how to interpret the data for themselves so that you may close and bridge the gaps in learning as you move toward your senior year.
